ELYSIA GRACE
FORWARD THINKING DESIGN
Mazimas

A project based around the pop up cafe design of Mazimas in London. The brief was to create a live work space for 6-10 refugee women from around the world to spend their time. My designs focussed on the 'play' element of 'work, rest and play' by introducing a lounge space and private indoor garden for the women to spend time outside of the cafe. My inspiration came from the vibrant colours and patterns, seen prominently in the traditional culture of the women's home countries, as a way of giving them a connection to home.
